TruePic VII processors are increasingly allowing OM-D E-M1 for shooting fast action, speed of 6.5 frames per second with a continuos autofocus mode (C-AF) or 10 frames per second with single autofocus mode (S-AF). For video recording capability, the OM-D E-M1 can produce Full HD video at a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels (30 fps).

M.Zuiko Digital ED zoom lens 12-40mm F2.8 'Pro' consists of 14 optical elements lenses in 9 groups, including 2 aspherical lens elements, the manual focus mechanism adopts the Olympus 12mm F2 lens and the 17mm F1.8.
